Comprehensive Evaluations That Go Beyond the Label

ADHD and psychoeducational (learning) evaluations for children and adults — designed to give you clarity, direction, and a roadmap for real change.

Not just a diagnosis.
A complete picture.

A comprehensive evaluation is more than a checklist. It's a thorough, individualized assessment of how your brain works — your strengths, your challenges, and the specific factors that may be getting in the way of your success at school, work, or in daily life.

At Integrative Psych-Ed Solutions, every evaluation is designed with one goal in mind: giving you answers that actually lead somewhere.

Whether you're seeking clarity about ADHD, a suspected learning disorder, or academic and testing accommodations, we provide a detailed, clinically grounded picture — and the guidance to know what to do next.

What We Evaluate

ADHD Evaluations

ADHD isn't just about attention. It's about regulation: how your brain manages focus, emotion, energy, impulses, and effort across every environment you move through.

That's why our ADHD evaluations look closely at your regulatory processes across several domains:

  • Attention regulation — sustaining, shifting, and directing focus

  • Emotional regulation — managing frustration, overwhelm, and emotional reactivity

  • Behavioral regulation — impulse control and self-monitoring

  • Cognitive regulation — working memory, processing speed, and organization

  • Energy regulation — managing fatigue, restlessness, and motivation

This is a comprehensive, holistic assessment — not a checklist — because ADHD rarely shows up in isolation. It's designed to clarify not just whether ADHD is present, but how it's uniquely showing up in your daily life at home, school, or work.

Best for:

  • Children and adults with suspected or previously diagnosed ADHD

  • High-performing individuals whose struggles are masked by ability or effort

  • Those needing updated documentation for accommodations or treatment planning

Psychoeducational (Learning) Evaluations

Struggling academically isn't always about effort — and it's rarely just one thing. Learning is a complex process that draws on cognitive ability, language processing, memory, and academic skill all at once. When it goes unaddressed, it often takes an emotional toll as well.

That's why our psychoeducational evaluations look closely at the processes underlying how you learn:

  • Cognitive ability — reasoning, problem-solving, and overall intellectual functioning

  • Academic achievement — reading, writing, and math skills measured against expected benchmarks

  • Language processing — how you understand and express written and spoken information

  • Memory and processing speed — how efficiently information is retained and retrieved

  • Attention and executive functioning — how these systems support or interfere with learning

  • Social-emotional and behavioral functioning — how ongoing academic struggles may contribute to anxiety, avoidance, frustration, or behavioral concerns

This comprehensive assessment goes beyond identifying a learning disorder. It's designed to explain exactly where the breakdown is happening, whether that's dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, or another processing difference. Then we identify what specific support will actually help, including any emotional or behavioral concerns that may have developed alongside it.

Best for:

  • Children and adults struggling academically despite effort and support

  • Those needing documentation for school-based accommodations (504 Plan, IEP)

  • College, graduate, and professional students needing standardized testing accommodations (SAT, ACT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, Bar Exam)

  • Those seeking to understand a history of unexplained academic difficulty

What to Expect

Every evaluation follows a clear, structured process — so you know what's happening and why.

📋 Step 1 — Diagnostic Intake Session: We begin with a thorough intake session to understand your history, concerns, and goals. This session is virtual and sets the foundation for the evaluation.

🏢 Step 2 — Testing: Testing takes place at our Scottdale office. Sessions are tailored to your specific referral questions; we don't use a one-size-fits-all battery.

📄 Step 3 — Scoring & Interpretation: After testing, results are scored and interpreted to identify diagnostic patterns and clarify what's contributing to the concerns that brought you in.

💬 Step 4 — Collaborative Feedback Session: This is where the real conversation happens. In a dedicated collaborative feedback session, we review your results together — not just handing you conclusions — but validating them against what you've actually experienced and observed. We discuss diagnosis, what it means in the context of your life, and recommendations for intervention or support.

Based on the findings, we talk through what's realistic and feasible for your specific situation: what's worked before, what hasn't, and which options, whether that's a particular therapy approach, classroom accommodation, or testing accommodation, make the most sense moving forward. Your written report, including these tailored recommendations, follows the feedback session.

✅ Step 5 — From Insight to Action™ (Optional Add-On) For families and individuals who want to go further, the From Insight to Action™ session translates your evaluation findings into a prioritized, practical action plan.

Our evaluations are designed as the foundation of a larger ADHD care pathway. For families and individuals who want to go further, we offer the From Insight to Action™ session and ADHD C3™, a 4-month care integration program. Contact us to learn more about the full IPES ADHD Care Ecosystem.

Investment

We call this an investment because a comprehensive evaluation does more than answer a question.

It gives you a clear, lasting foundation for every decision that follows: treatment planning, accommodations, and a deeper understanding of yourself or your child that shapes how you move forward.

Insurance: Dr. Janell Hargrove is currently in-network with Aetna and Cigna. If you have one of these plans, your fees will be based on your individual plan benefits, including any applicable copays, coinsurances, or deductibles. Please contact your insurance carrier to carefully check your plan’s specific coverage.

A note about insurance coverage for psychoeducational (learning) evaluations: In our years of experience, payers will not cover or reimburse for psychoeducational evaluations for learning disorders such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, or dysgraphia. Insurance companies typically classify these evaluations as "educational" rather than "medical," and therefore, do not consider them medically necessary, regardless of your plan type or provider network status. This means that even if you have Aetna or Cigna coverage, psychoeducational evaluations for learning disorders are a self-pay service.

We understand this is a significant investment, and we're committed to being transparent about costs upfront. If you have questions about your specific plan, we recommend calling the member services number on your insurance card before scheduling.

If you have an out-of-network plan, we can provide a detailed superbill for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
