More Than a Diagnosis.
A Mission.
My Why
I'm Dr. Janell Hargrove — but most people call me Dr. Jan.
I didn't start this work because it was a logical career path. I started it because I kept seeing the same thing, over and over again. Brilliant, capable people — children, adolescents, adults — being handed a label and sent home without a map.
A diagnosis without direction isn't clarity. It's just a new way to feel stuck.
I believe every person who walks through the door deserves more than that. They deserve to understand how their brain works, why their life has unfolded the way it has, and — most importantly — what to do next. That belief is the foundation of everything I do at Integrative Psych-Ed Solutions.
It's also, I'll be honest, deeply personal.
I've spent close to three decades working at the intersection of ADHD, executive functioning, neurodevelopmental assessment, and translating clinical findings into real-world change. I've worked across public schools, pediatric medical settings, private practice, and consultative roles with private schools and behavioral health practices. Through it all, one thing has stayed constant: a deep commitment to collaboration across agencies, across systems, and across the people who care most about the individuals I serve.
But my understanding of ADHD doesn't come from clinical experience alone.
I'm a woman who received her own ADHD diagnosis later in life — a late diagnosis that reframed decades of my own story. I'm a parent raising neurodiverse children. And I'm someone whose faith has been the steady anchor through all of it.
Those three perspectives — clinician, woman living with ADHD, and parent — change everything about how I show up for the people I serve. I'm not just interpreting data. I'm sitting with someone who may be feeling exactly what I've felt: relief, grief, confusion, hope, and the desperate need for someone to just tell them what to do next.
That's what I'm here for.

The Philosophy
A checklist gives a label. A comprehensive evaluation gives a map.
And a map is only useful if it leads somewhere.
I am not a "test and place" clinician.
I've never believed that handing someone a report and a list of recommendations was enough. Real change happens when findings are translated into action; when the systems around a person are aligned, not fragmented.
That's why every service at Integrative Psych-Ed Solutions is designed to move people forward — from clarity to integration to action. Whether that means a comprehensive evaluation, a focused implementation session, a structured coaching program, or coordinated care across home, school, and providers — the goal is always the same:
Meaningful change that lasts.
At my core, I lead with empathy, love helping people reach their full potential, and have a knack for seeing how all the pieces of a system connect. I hold firmly to what I believe, and that conviction shows up in how I show up for you.
The transformation I'm committed to for every person I serve: moving you from seeking validation to inhabiting value.
Because when you truly understand what's happening — for yourself or your child — you don't just feel seen. You become equipped to advocate, to act, and to lead your own story.
My Faith
My faith is central to who I am, and it quietly shapes the care, intentionality, and belief in human potential that I bring to every interaction.
At the same time, I serve a beautifully diverse population: across backgrounds, beliefs, and lived experiences. I hold deep respect for the faith traditions, values, and worldviews of every individual and family I work with. You don't have to share my beliefs to receive excellent, compassionate care here.
My Commitment
-
ADHD is not a label — it's an explanation.
An explanation of why school feels impossible, why relationships are harder than they should be, why you've spent years wondering what's wrong with you when nothing is wrong with you.
Understanding your ADHD brain, or your child's, isn't about lowering expectations. It's about finally having the right information to meet them
-
Culture shapes whether you seek a diagnosis, whether you accept it, and whether you feel equipped to advocate for yourself or your child.
Advocacy doesn't only happen in schools and medical offices. Sometimes the hardest conversations happen within your own family; among people who see mental health, parenting, and neurodevelopment very differently than you do.
Context isn't separate from the clinical work. It's central to it.
-
Too many families are making critical decisions without the information they need. Not because it doesn't exist, but because no one translated it for them or told them what questions to ask.
Closing that gap is part of why this practice exists.
If you've spent years wondering why things feel harder than they should
— for yourself for for your child. I want you to know, there are answers.
And the answers lead somewhere.
I'd be honored to help you find them.
